Thomas M. Watkins, III is a founding Partner of Chartwell Partners and his specialization includes all areas of management in financial services. He has spent over 25 years in the executive recruiting industry. As a Senior Partner with Heidrick & Struggles, Tom worked with the Diversified Financial Services Practice.

Tom's insight into organizational structure has helped his clients make thoughtful allocations of resources in challenging financial times. Years of focused search experience have enabled him to effectively serve a broad range of client needs. He has conducted senior-level assignments for numerous companies including Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, CitiGroup Capital (The Associates First Capital), Comerica, U.S. Trust, Centex Corporation, Carreker Corporation, Citizens Republic Bancorp, Compass Bank, F&M Bank, FirstMerit Corporation, Huntington Bancshares, Key Bank, Park View FSB, PNC Financial, Texas Capital Bank, Whitney National Bank, Bank of Oklahoma, Century Bank, Marshall & Ilsley Corporation, Southwest Securities, and Guaranty Bank.

Tom began his career in human resources with First Union Corporation, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida, and Banc Texas.

A native of Kentucky, Tom received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky. He has been active in the community as a member of the Board of Directors for the Dallas Symphony Association and the Board of Directors for the Dallas Business Committee for the Arts. Tom has also served as Chairman of the Parents' Council for the University of the South at Sewanee.
